No other website, social account, or payment channel is authorized to represent this organization or to solicit funds on its behalf.

Donations are voluntary and are processed by PayPal through the official donation link published on this site. We do not receive or store your payment card or account credentials. Your donation is also subject to PayPal's own terms and privacy policy.

Unless you specify a restriction in writing, gifts are treated as unrestricted and allocated by need across our shelter, food security, art therapy, youth, and outreach programmes. Where you request a restriction, we apply and report on the gift accordingly. Donations are generally non-refundable; if a gift was made in error, duplicated, or made without authorization, contact us at info@hogarelrefugio.art or 939-355-0157within 30 days and we will review and, where appropriate, arrange a refund.

We do not provide tax advice. You are responsible for determining the deductibility of your contribution in your own jurisdiction; see our Donate page for the registration details required for your records.

Every donor to HOGAR DE AYUDA EL REFUGIO INC is entitled to be informed of our mission and of our intended use of donated funds; to be informed of the identity of those serving on our governing board; to receive a written acknowledgement and receipt for their gift; to request and receive a summary of how funds were applied in a given period; to expect that gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given; to have their personal information kept confidential and never sold or traded; to be treated with respect and without pressure; and to ask questions and receive prompt, truthful answers.

Submitting a volunteer form is an expression of interest, not an offer or guarantee of a volunteer placement. Volunteers working with minors or shelter residents must complete screening and safeguarding orientation before beginning service, and must follow our confidentiality, conduct, and child-protection policies. We may decline or end a volunteer relationship where the safety of programme participants requires it.

Information provided about people we serve is strictly confidential. Nothing on this site creates an employment relationship or an entitlement to services.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and applicable United States federal law, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of San Juan, Puerto Rico. We may update these terms as our practices or legal obligations change, revising the date above; continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the current version.
