Where Your Gift Goes
Contributions fund three things first
Emergency shelter. Beds, bedding, hygiene supplies, utilities, food service, and the case coordinators who sit with each guest to rebuild documents, benefits, and housing plans.
Art workshops. Canvases, paint, instruments, printmaking and craft materials, facilitator stipends for local Puerto Rican artists, and the community exhibitions where participants show their work.
Food security. Weekly nutritional boxes, hot meals, infant and elderly supplies, home delivery for households that cannot travel, and emergency assistance when a utility shutoff or repair bill threatens a family's stability.
Unrestricted gifts are allocated by need at the time of receipt. If you would like your donation applied to a specific program, write to info@hogarelrefugio.art after giving and we will record and report on the restriction.

One shelter night
A clean bed, linens, hygiene kit, and three meals for one guest arriving in crisis.
A family food box
One week of fresh produce, staples, protein, and household essentials for a household of four.
An art therapy session
Canvases, paints, and facilitation for a full workshop group of up to twelve participants.
A month of mentorship
Weekly mentoring, materials, and a stipend placement for a young person in our youth program.

Donations are received solely through the official PayPal donation page linked from this site; we do not solicit gifts by cash courier, wire request, gift card, or cryptocurrency, and we will never contact you asking for card numbers or account credentials.
Every gift is receipted by email with the date, amount, and our legal name and registration number. Please retain that receipt for your tax records and consult your own tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your contribution in your jurisdiction.
Program spending is reconciled monthly and reviewed by our board of directors. Donors and grantmakers may request a written summary of how funds were applied in a given period at any time by writing to info@hogarelrefugio.art or calling 939-355-0157.
